FPC Men's Group
On the third Sunday of the month, we invite men to gather at Pastor Doug’s office after worship. We then walk down to Bridge Street to share lunch, fellowship, and discussion. If it’s your first time, don’t worry, lunch is on us. Starting in 2023 they will be reading The Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien, followed by Cry Like A Man by Jason Wilson, founder of the Cave of Adullam in Detroit. Come see Pastor Doug if you have any questions, or would like for him to order you a book, and feel free to join the group any 3rd Sunday whether you are reading the books or not.
FPC’s Women’s Circle
FPC’s Women’s Circle studies and discusses topics relevant to our faith and identity as Christian women in the modern world.
All women are invited to join us after service on the third Sunday of the month.
Pub Theology
Pub Theology meets on the last Sunday of the month at The Foodery (325 Bridge Street).
What is Pub Theology? Open and honest conversation about things that matter. A table at which all perspectives are welcome. The format is simple: beverage, conversation, and God. Bring your questions, bring a friend, and pull up a chair. The Foodery offers a wonderful selection of craft sodas and beer.
Be ready to engage with people of varying religious traditions, philosophical perspectives, and life experiences. You’ll be able to share your own wrestlings and thoughts while learning something new along the way.
Prison Ministry
Books Through Bars
Every third Saturday of the month, FPC visits Books through Bars to assist in the selection and packing of books for incarcerated people. To learn more about Books Through Bars contact FPCBooksThroughBars@gmail.com or visit https://www.booksthroughbars.org/.
Holiday Card Writing
Each December, we participate in a Christmas card writing campaign to send hope to those incarcerated over the holidays. Our Pastor blesses the cards before we mail them.
Pen Pals
Members independently communicate with those incarcerated through our Pen Pal program to share hope and connection.
Queer Circle

They are currently reading The Book of Queer Prophets: 24 Writers on Sexuality and Religion by Ruth Hunt
