A Message From Kuwadzana

Our congregation has a long-standing relationship with the Kuwadzana congregation in Harare, Zimbabwe. Recently, Kuwadzana has faced a challenge of a failing well, or bore-hole, for reasons including an extended drought. They have requested help from the congregations in the States with whom they have relationships, and our People to People ministry, Mission Action Concern Committee and members of the congregation stepped up to help them pay to deepen their well and continue providing clean water to their church, training center and community. 

Greetings to you from a rather chilly Harare

I hope you had a wonderful Independence Day yesterday!

On behalf of the Kuwadzana congregation and the entire leadership,  I would want to express our sincere gratitude towards your unwavering support to us.  You gifts are targeting not just the congregation’s needs but goes beyond to answer the daily basic needs of the local community.  Am referring to your contribution towards borehole re-drilling.  Yes,  the money you sent through has reflected in the church’s bank account.  It is unfortunate,  however that at the moment banks are restricting withdrawals to smaller amounts per day so we haven’t been able to get the money in total.  Rose will furnish you with a thorough update of how much has reflected to date .

Progress with the borehole is that we have engaged at least three contractors to come and deduce what needs to be done to get the water in good supply. We took heed to your advice that we look for reliable and trustworthy people for the job. We are expecting that by the end of this week we will be in a good position to tell exactly where the problem is and start working on it. Again, we will appraise you on the progress.

We continue asking for your prayers, that God avails Divine intervention to Zimbabwe as we go through rough patches economically.  In the same way,  we uphold you in our prayers. May the good Lord grant you wisdom as you approach presidential elections in November. Let God decide a capable person for such a demanding position. Exodus 18:21
